Our mission is to provide the highest quality care to patients with endocrine and metabolic disorders while also affording top-notch medical training and excelling in academic research. We have long been a leader in the diagnosis and treatment of endocrine-related diseases including diabetes, thyroid, adrenal, and lipid disorders. Today, the Division has expanded its scope to include the areas of bone metabolic diseases, neuroendocrinology, reproductive endocrinology, and the metabolic syndrome. In addition to our multiple outpatient clinics, we also provide inpatient endocrine and diabetes care at four major hospitals: University of Miami Hospital, Sylvester Cancer Center, Jackson Memorial Hospital, and the Miami Veterans Administration Hospital.
The Division’s clinical laboratory is fully accredited and equipped to perform state of the art diagnostic tests assisting in the diagnosis and management of our patients. We also provide in-house thyroid ultrasound and thyroid fine needle aspiration biopsy for our patients, and work closely with endocrine surgeons, neurosurgeons, nuclear medicine specialists, radiologists and pathologists at University of Miami. This comprehensive, integrated approach simplifies the patient experience and contributes directly to the high quality of care delivered by our physicians.
Excellent clinical care can only be achieved through excellence in Medical Education and Research programs. The Division has a growing number of NIH-funded research laboratories, and offers an exciting Fellowship in Endocrinology, a training experience that promotes the development of focused clinical skills, critical thinking, and the ability to stay abreast of the newest knowledge in the field of endocrinology.
We strive to achieve the highest levels of satisfaction for both our patients and their referring physicians. We look forward to exceeding your expectations as a patient, physician, fellow, or scientist.
