A Message from The Chief
Welcome to the Division of Hepatology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Our goals are to provide excellent care for patients with the whole spectrum of liver disease, educate the next generation of hepatologists and gastroenterologists and pursue clinical research in liver disease. We manage the full spectrum of liver disease in adults including hepatitis C and B , fatty liver, autoimmune hepatitis and biliary cirrhosis.
As a key component of the Miami Transplant Institute we provide care for patients with advanced liver disease before and after liver transplant. Our Division is also a referral source for patients with liver tumors, which we manage in collaboration with specialists in other departments including radiology, oncology and surgery.
We are innovators in clinical research helping to develop new treatments and diagnostic tools for liver disease. We see patients in our outpatient clinics and as well as admitting them under our care to hospital. We offer advanced training in transplant Hepatology in our accredited fourth year fellowship program for physicians who have already trained in gastroenterology.
